    • Artist’s Description:

Sometimes I come up with artworks as if I were making a movie. That is, I see my characters, I understand them, but I tell my visual story in one frame. Since this is a painting, it has its own laws: to collect all the time in an instant and find such an image so that the viewer himself can imagine all the possible options for the development of the plot. I really love the sea. Look at it, breathe it, swim and just sit on the beach in any weather. And I quite often paint artworks in which the sea is the same spiritualized character as people. I see the sea as an element of life. In this painting, woman and the sea personify different facets of life force. A young woman is reading a book while sitting in a beach chair near the sea. The feeling of happiness and ease of being is poured in the air. In connection with it, many beautiful associations appear, including personal ones. I painted this artwork, trying to find the personal touch of character through movement, gesture, color, clothes. Here, as in many of my paintings, the influence of the style of the 30s is noticeable: a clear line, local color relationships, even the character and clothes of the models remind that time. The painting was done in combination of turquoise blue with bright red and ocher by palette knife and brush.
