      Original Art on Canvas with Art Deco touch.

      Mussini oil paints on linen canvas painting with Artichokes, Black Olives and Lemon on a Coral Tablecloth and William Morris Wallpaper.


      In winter, it gets dark in Prague early, and sometimes it seems that the sun will not come out at all. 

      You have to learn to live with this. Of course, this affects the creative and workflow. The wisest thing to do is to do graphics or paint in small sizes at this time of year.

      I chose small canvases and began to paint a series of fruits and vegetables, enjoying the harmony of color, shape and volume.

       This time I chose the artichokes I love so much, the round shape of which is interestingly combined with small black olives. It has a certain musicality and almost architectural beauty. 

      I have added a wallpaper pattern with elegant palm leaves reminiscent of the William Morris design I saw in an old French estate last summer. I found this combination rather funny. 

      Here, as in many of my paintings, the influence of the style of the 30s is noticeable: a clear line, local color relationships, even the character of a «model» remind that time, which I feel very close to me both in spirit and in design.

      The artwork was painted with a brush.
