I love portrait as a classic genre in painting. Sometimes in my style I paint portraits on commission. But frankly, I prefer to paint portraits of people I have never seen. Which I can imagine in my imagination and endow with features that interest me. Create a portrait as a generalised character, as a person living in an imaginary world. I found this plot after a trip to France, where we visited with our friends in their ancient castle in early June. A wonderful combination of heat, freshness and peace. The high walls were almost completely covered with trellis roses. My friend, her mother and I cut these roses for several days. So many roses! I had the feeling that new roses were blooming in place of already cut yesterday. I painted this story twice, trying to find the personal touch of a character through movement, gesture, color, clothes. This is the first version. As in most of my artworks, I used the style of the 20s-30s of the last century, which I feel very close to me both in spirit and in design. This painting is part of my 2016 year collection.
