Artist’s Description:
I conceived and started this subject a year ago, then left it, and returned to it a year later.
Two girls, friends or sisters, are sitting on the terrace against the background of flying clouds and reading a book. They talk, keep silent, dream, come up with stories and adventures.
In terms of figures size, color, classical composition and style, this painting is similar to frescoes.
Here, as in many of my paintings, the influence of the style of the 30s is noticeable: a clear line, local color relationships, even the character and clothes of the model remind that time.
The artwork was painted with a palette knife and a brush.
