    • Artist’s Description:

Sometimes I come up with artworks as if I were making a movie. That is, I see my characters, I understand them, but I tell my visual story in one frame. Since this is a painting, it has its own laws: to collect all the time in an instant and find such an image so that the viewer himself can imagine all the possible options for the development of the plot. I found this character of a young and sporty woman in order to convey an exciting sense of the game and, possibly, victory in it (in the broadest sense). Elegantly dressed young Tennis player stands with one hand leaning on the net, in the other she holds a racquet for the upcoming game. The color of the tennis court reminds us of the Roland Garros tournament in France. When they are playing, they look enthusiastic and inspired. And it is very beautiful in itself. The artwork is painted by imagination. In connection with it, many beautiful associations appear, including personal ones. I painted this artwork, trying to find the personal touch of the character through movement, gesture, color, clothes. Here, as in many of my paintings, the influence of the style of the 30s is noticeable: a clear line, local color relationships, even the character and clothes of the models remind that time. The painting was done in combination of noble grey, white and old red with ocher by palette knife and brush.
